ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Olivia!  I am a professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA) as well as an AKC Scent Work judge, and CGC/ATT/Fetch Test evaluator. I have been training and competing in dog sports since 2000. Currently, I own and operate a dog sport training facility in Austin, TX.

In 2019 a wonderful breeder took a chance on me and trusted me with a young adult Golden Retriever, who I named Winger. Winger was 18 months old when I got him, so I missed out on all the fun puppy stages. However, that also meant we could jump right into sports training! I got Winger with the intention of agility, although those training plans were slightly delayed due to the pandemic in 2020. Winger introduced me to the world of dock diving while all our other training classes were put on pause. He ended the 2020 season as the #3 Distance Golden with a personal best of 26'3". We attended the very first NADD South Central Regional Championship that year. Winger has taken to every type of sport training I've asked him to try including: FastCAT, agility, dock diving, scent work, barn hunt, Rally, hunt tests, and animal acting. He truly exemplifies the versatility of a Golden Retriever.

After starting scent work, Winger quickly blazed to the upper levels and earned our Detective title, and I got so into the sport that now I am an instructor and AKC judge. I have been lucky enough to compete at the Scent Work Master National with Winger, where we placed 16th overall out of 200 teams competing.

Winger was my catalyst to join the Golden Retriever Club of America, and we have attended the National Specialty every year since joining. His natural inclination for retrieving anything that's thrown, made me decide to attempt hunt training and competing in the GRCA Working Certificate test. I was instantly hooked! It is now my goal to hunt train all my Goldens and compete in hunt tests when I can.

I am a member in good standing with the Golden Retriever Club of America and Vice President of the Austin Golden Retriever Club.
