Lymphoma study
Winger was chosen to participate in a study being done by the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine to try and identify an early marker for B-cell Lymphoma. Since Golden Retrievers have a high incidence of cancer and Winger's grandfather, Coupe, died young from lymphoma, I felt it was important to give back to the breed and hopefully contribute to scientific advancement in early cancer detection and screening. Thankfully our vet was fully on board and was hap

First Conformation show
The four Goldens and I traveled to Tulsa, OK to show at the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa and Natural State Golden Retriever Club shows, as well as run FastCAT. PC and I won our class on Saturday under breeder judge, Debbie Claussen at the NSGRC specialty show. In all the other shows we placed 2nd or 3rd in our class. All the Goldens LOVED running FastCAT! Ayla was unsure of the noise and other dogs barking at first, so she made me run her first run with her. Waverly and

Ayla, Waverly, and Winger got to try out UKC Shed Hunt today at Black Label Kennels! Winger picked it up right away, and Waverly got it pretty fast. Winger Novice Agility Preferred
Winger earned his Novice Agility Preferred title under judge Heather Dickinson this weekend at DePaw Dog Sports in Leander, TX. This title has been 2 years in the making and I am excited to say Winger is finally starting to be able to work in arousal and keep his jump bars up. Waverly picked up another Q in Novice Standard on Friday, so she is now one Q away from her Novice titles in both Standard and Jumpers with Weaves.

Waverly's First Agility Q's!
This past weekend, Waverly and Winger competed in the Capitol Dog Training Club of Austin agility trial. Waverly did extremely well in her second trial ever and picked up 2 Qs in Novice JWW and 1 Q in Novice Standard. Her Standard run on Sunday would have been a Q, but she kept getting distracted by a bar setter that was sitting directly in line with the weaves and was leaning forward with her elbows on her knees. Waverly was intrigued and popped out of the weaves 3 times to

Ayla's First AKC Scent Work Trial!
This weekend Ayla made her AKC Scent Work trial debut in Novice and Waverly made her Advanced debut since finishing her SWN at the GRCA National Specialty in September. On Saturday, Ayla was scared to go into most of the search areas, but managed to pick up a Q and third place in Novice Buried. Waverly decided Buried and Container were not for her, but Q'd in Advanced Interior and Advanced Exterior. On Sunday, Ayla was much more comfortable and qualified in ALL her searches!

Winger and I traveled to Wilmington, Ohio to compete in the first ever AKC Scent Work Master National! Unfortunately, no photos or video were allowed of the competition. The first two days were an elimination round where the dogs completed Container, Buried, Interior, and Exterior searches to accrue points based on number of hides found plus negative points for false alerts, faults, and zero points for NQ-able offenses (destroying a container, eliminating in a search area, et
