Winger OPen Agility Preferred!
Winger earned his Open Agility Preferred title at the Alamo Area Shetland Sheepdog Club trial in Boerne, TX! Onto Excellent!!!

Lymphoma study
Winger was chosen to participate in a study being done by the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine to try and identify an early marker for B-cell Lymphoma. Since Golden Retrievers have a high incidence of cancer and Winger's grandfather, Coupe, died young from lymphoma, I felt it was important to give back to the breed and hopefully contribute to scientific advancement in early cancer detection and screening. Thankfully our vet was fully on board and was hap

First Conformation show
The four Goldens and I traveled to Tulsa, OK to show at the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa and Natural State Golden Retriever Club shows, as well as run FastCAT. PC and I won our class on Saturday under breeder judge, Debbie Claussen at the NSGRC specialty show. In all the other shows we placed 2nd or 3rd in our class. All the Goldens LOVED running FastCAT! Ayla was unsure of the noise and other dogs barking at first, so she made me run her first run with her. Waverly and

Winger OJP!
February turned out to be a fantastic month for Winger and Waverly! Winger earned his Open Jumpers with Weaves Preferred title and is now just one Q away from his Open Agility Preferred title.

Winger VERSATILITY CERTIFICATE!
Winger officially received his GRCA Versatility Certificate from GRCA!

Shed Hunting
Ayla, Waverly, and Winger got to try out UKC Shed Hunt today at Black Label Kennels! Winger picked it up right away, and Waverly got it pretty fast. Ayla enjoyed retrieving the sheds as long as I threw them for her, but she was hesitant to find and retrieve them when they were hidden. I bought shed supplies for training, so we will continue to work on it!

Winger NJP!
Winger earned his Novice Jumpers With Weaves Preferred title today at the Waco Agility Group trial in Belton!

Winger's First Open Agility Q
Winger earned his first Open Standard Preferred Q today at the Austin Golden Retriever Club agility trial! He also earned another Novice JWW Preferred Q.

Winger Novice Agility Preferred
Winger earned his Novice Agility Preferred title under judge Heather Dickinson this weekend at DePaw Dog Sports in Leander, TX. This title has been 2 years in the making and I am excited to say Winger is finally starting to be able to work in arousal and keep his jump bars up. Waverly picked up another Q in Novice Standard on Friday, so she is now one Q away from her Novice titles in both Standard and Jumpers with Weaves.

Inaugural AKC Scent Work Master National 2025
Winger and I traveled to Wilmington, Ohio to compete in the first ever AKC Scent Work Master National! Unfortunately, no photos or video were allowed of the competition. The first two days were an elimination round where the dogs completed Container, Buried, Interior, and Exterior searches to accrue points based on number of hides found plus negative points for false alerts, faults, and zero points for NQ-able offenses (destroying a container, eliminating in a search area, et

2025 GRCA National Specialty
We hit the road to Purina Farms for our second GRCA National Specialty! Winger competed in the Junior Hunt test, WC, scent work, and agility. Waverly got to compete at her first specialty in scent work and agility. Winger passed his Junior Hunt test and WC with flying colors! He went 3/5 qualifying scores in scent work, and had some really amazing moments in agility with Premier JWW and Premier Standard runs that were so close to Qs. Waverly had a spectacular day at the scent

Winger fetch Advanced
Winger earned his Fetch Advanced title today!

Fetch Intermediate
The Golden trio competed in the Greater Austin Doberman Pinscher Club Fetch Test today! We were back at the same location as our Novice Fetch Tests. This time the tests were run back-to-back, which meant the dogs were retrieving 8 times in a row! Definitely a mental stamina test for the puppies. I discovered that Waverly is less like to run victory laps on her retrieve if she has a ball vs. a bumper, so I found some balls that don't squeak at Petsmart and bought them. There w

Hunt Training!
We went to a new training facility today to try out some group hunting lessons. Winger ran a couple of land singles with two false horizons (a first for him), as well as water doubles. We came away with a long list on skills to work on. Waverly impressed the head trainer with her willingness to pick up a bird without hesitation, but then decided to remind everyone that she's 7 months old and ran a few victory laps around us with the duck. We will need to work on her obedience

Fetch Novice
Winger, Waverly, and Ayla attend an Austin Golden Retriever Club Fetch Test & CGC test event! All three dogs earned their Fetch Novice titles and Waverly earned her CGC and Trick Dog Novice, too. I was very impressed with how the 6 month old puppies handled this event! Waverly stayed focused (with minimal visiting) in an off leash setting with livestock and other dogs present. Ayla was very brave and handled standing in line around strange dogs like a pro. She didn't spook at
