Waverly's First Scent Work Trial

Waverly competed in her very first scent work trial this weekend! She qualified of 5/6 runs and placed in three of them. After the judge's briefing on Friday, I got her out of the crate to potty and discovered she had a bee sting! Her poor snoot was swollen to twice it's size! I didn't have any antihistamines in my first aid kit, but luckily we were able to find a fellow competitor with some. Waverly ran Novice Containers with a puffy face and managed to Q! By the afternoon, her face was back to normal and she earned Qs in Novice Exterior and Novice Buried with a first place in Buried. On Saturday, she was still on Benadryl, but earned a first place in Novice Exterior and fourth place in Novice Buried. She ultimately timed out of Novice Containers because she was so tired from the heat and medication.
